Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second-oldest town, lies at the historic heart of the country’s wine industry. Its oak-lined streets, Cape Dutch architecture, mountain scenery and renowned estates offer a fascinating introduction to the heritage of Cape wine.
Franschhoek brings a different character to the day, with dramatic valley landscapes, French Huguenot history, exceptional restaurants and a combination of established estates and smaller boutique producers.
This route normally includes approximately three carefully selected wine estates across Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Depending on your interests and pace, the day may also include time to explore the historic streets of Stellenbosch or the village of Franschhoek.
Historic Constantia Wine Valley
For guests who prefer less travelling and a slower day close to Cape Town, the historic Constantia Wine Valley offers an excellent alternative.
Wine has been produced in Constantia since 1685, making it the birthplace of South Africa’s wine industry. Its mountain slopes, cooling maritime influence and historic estates have produced internationally celebrated wines for centuries, including the famous Vin de Constance enjoyed by Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile.
A Constantia day normally includes approximately three selected estates, with time to explore the valley’s wine, history, architecture and beautiful surroundings at a comfortable pace.

Wine is personal. Rather than building the cost of predetermined tastings and pairings into the tour price, we allow you to choose what genuinely interests you at each estate.
Your guide will recommend suitable estates and tasting experiences according to your preferences, whether you enjoy bold reds, crisp whites, Méthode Cap Classique, historic wines, boutique producers or food-and-wine pairings.
Wine tastings and lunch are paid directly at the estates. This gives you complete control over what you taste, where you dine and how much you spend—without paying for experiences you may not want.
