This is not a rigid, one-size-fits-all sightseeing tour. The day follows a carefully planned framework, but because this is a private tour, your guide can adapt the experience around your interests, pace and preferences. Whether you are interested in history, architecture, local culture, photography, food or everyday Cape Town life, the aim is to help you experience the city rather than simply pass through it.
After collection from your Cape Town hotel, travel along the scenic Atlantic Seaboard through Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay and Hout Bay. Enjoy magnificent ocean views and some of Cape Town’s best-known coastal neighbourhoods before heading to Signal Hill for panoramic views of Table Mountain, the city skyline and the Atlantic coastline.
Continue through colourful Bo-Kaap, where you’ll learn about Cape Malay history and culture. Depending on your interests, there may also be time to visit a traditional spice shop and browse local curio stores.
Explore Cape Town’s historic city centre on foot with your guide. Your route may include Greenmarket Square, Company’s Garden, Parliament and Cape Town City Hall, with a focus on the architecture, people and events that shaped the city. The Nelson Mandela Exhibition at City Hall may also be visited when open and accessible.
Lunch is enjoyed at a local restaurant selected according to your tastes and budget. Rather than taking every visitor to the same tourist stop, we prefer introducing our guests to worthwhile local places. Lunch is for your own account.
The tour normally finishes at approximately 17:00. You can be returned to your Cape Town hotel or choose to finish at the V&A Waterfront, where you can continue independently with shopping, dinner or drinks.
