Gansbaai is particularly well known for its bronze whaler sharks, also called copper sharks. The area is historically famous for great white sharks, although sightings of these animals are now rare and unpredictable. As with all wildlife experiences, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Your adventure begins with a welcome and safety briefing before boarding the shark-diving vessel. The crew selects the day’s diving location according to weather, sea conditions and shark activity.
Guests can experience sharks from a secure surface cage, with no previous diving experience or scuba certification required for standard cage diving. An air-supply cage diving option may also be available by prior arrangement.
Those who prefer not to enter the cage can enjoy shark viewing from the boat.

- Shark cage diving is a family-friendly adventure. Children are welcome, with participation subject to the operating crew's safety requirements. Families with younger children are encouraged to enquire about suitable arrangements, including private charters.
- Air-supply cage diving may be available on request and must be arranged and confirmed in advance of the trip.
- All trips are subject to operator availability, weather and sea conditions.
- Exact meeting times and Cape Town collection arrangements are normally confirmed the day before departure.
- Guests should allow a full day for their experience, particularly when travelling from Cape Town.
- Sharks are wild animals. Species, numbers and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
- If a trip operates but no sharks are sighted, no refund is offered solely on that basis. Any applicable return-voucher arrangement is subject to the operating company's policy.
- Guests must follow all safety instructions issued by the operating crew.
- Late arrival may result in a missed departure and may affect refund eligibility.
- Cancellations, amendments, rescheduling and refunds are subject to the applicable booking and operator terms communicated at the time of reservation.
