Cape Town to Atlantis Dunes

Your West Coast adventure begins with pickup in Cape Town and a private transfer north towards Atlantis, where the city gradually gives way to the wide-open landscapes of the Cape West Coast.

Our first destination is the spectacular Atlantis Dunes — a landscape of sweeping white sand dunes that feels remarkably far removed from Cape Town, despite being close enough to form the first part of an unforgettable full-day adventure.

Quad Biking at Atlantis Dunes

This is where the adventure begins.

Enjoy a one-hour guided quad biking experience across the Atlantis Dunes, following your guide through the constantly changing terrain of this extraordinary white-sand landscape.

Before setting off, you’ll receive a safety briefing and instructions on operating your quad bike. The experience is guided, so you don’t need previous quad biking experience to join the adventure.

The dunes themselves are part of what makes the experience so memorable. Wind continually reshapes the landscape, creating ridges, slopes and vast stretches of white sand — which means no two rides through Atlantis Dunes are ever quite the same.

Atlantis Dunes to Langebaan

After your quad biking experience, we leave Atlantis and continue north towards Langebaan on the Cape West Coast.

The journey gives you time to settle back after the adrenaline of the dunes and watch the landscape change again as we make our way towards the coast.

Our destination is not an ordinary restaurant. Lunch today is an experience in its own right.

10-Course Beach Feast at Die Strandloper

Welcome to Die Strandloper — a famously relaxed West Coast dining experience where lunch is prepared over open fires and served beside the beach.

Over approximately three to four hours, you’ll enjoy a traditional 10-course meal featuring a succession of West Coast dishes, including seafood, freshly baked breads and local favourites.

This isn’t fine dining with white tablecloths and a rushed timetable. Die Strandloper is informal, rustic and proudly West Coast. Come prepared to slow down, enjoy the food, take in the sea air and experience a very different side of South African hospitality.

The menu and individual dishes may vary according to availability and the restaurant’s operating arrangements.

Return to Cape Town

After a leisurely afternoon on the beach, we begin our journey back to Cape Town.

By the time we return, the day will have taken you from the city to the white dunes of Atlantis, across the Cape West Coast and finally to a long beach lunch in Langebaan — combining adventure, scenery and traditional West Coast food in one full-day experience.

Traffic and operating conditions can affect exact timings, but approximately nine hours should be allowed from pickup to return.
