Get face-to-face with one of the ocean’s most iconic predators in the world-famous waters of Gansbaai — South Africa’s shark diving capital. Just over two hours from Cape Town, Gansbaai offers a thrilling opportunity to cage dive with bronze whalers (also known as copper sharks), and occasionally, the elusive great white shark.

This surface-level cage dive means you don’t need any diving certification — just courage and a sense of adventure. You’ll board a purpose-built shark diving vessel and head out to Shark Alley, a globally recognised hotspot for shark activity between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock.

The experienced crew will brief you on shark behaviour and safety before anchoring and deploying the cage. Once the sharks arrive, you’ll take turns getting into the cage, equipped with a wetsuit and mask, for an unforgettable underwater encounter.

Don’t want to dive? No problem. Surface viewing from the boat offers fantastic photo opportunities too. Ideal for adrenaline seekers, nature lovers, and anyone wanting a truly wild memory from South Africa.
